The Candidates (2013)
I was walking with my dog, Murphy, listening to Radiohead when I had a thought: I wonder how we’d answer the question today that was asked at the end of The Candidate - the classic Redford movie?
I went back to my office, and wrote what you see in pretty much one take over the course of a few days. For fun, I sent it to one screenplay competition, and won an award, then edited it more seriously for public consumption, cutting it back considerably, then editing it for TV, cutting it more, then I figured, this was just something I did for fun, so let it go.
Oh, and I kinda predicted the whole Trump thing, three years before it happened, with equal absurdity.
